How to Get Started

Getting Started For Adults

First, call or email Idaho Kenpo at Meridian to schedule an orientation lesson. Mr. Hagood and several other Instructors conduct the orientation lessons to introduce prospective students to the art of Kenpo and the instructors, procedures and class schedule at Meridian. At the orientation lesson, you will be introduced to basic stances, blocks, strikes and kicks.

In addition, you will learn two self defense techniques - Delayed Sword and Sword of Destruction. Don't worry! We aren't using real swords -
the word sword in Kenpo Karate simply refers to the type of strike.
After the orientation lesson, the Instructor will discuss the program options, the fee schedule, and any equipment that you may need. Recognizing the importance of individual pace, students schedule a private 30 minute lesson every week and attend unlimited group
classes. Most instructors and students believe that the combination of individualized instruction and group classes offer self-paced learning with exposure to a variety of different skill levels.
