Ms. Ali Breshears is currently a 3rd degree black belt. She started taking lessons so that if there was ever a need, she would be able to defend herself against any attack. She did not want to find herself in a situation where she would feel afraid or helpless. Both her parents and two brothers joined her and it became a fun, family bonding activity. She achieved her junior black belt before completing the adult system. She also competed in the Long Beach International Karate Championships in 2008 where she received a first place in self-defense and in sparring. She believes that Kenpo has taught her many valuable lessons in self-respect, discipline, dedication, perseverance, and loyalty. In addition she has learned how to defend herself in life-threatening situations, a skill she has been forced to use. Now teaching students these same skills, she believes that Kenpo is both a lifestyle, and a complex art that one can study for a lifetime and benefit greatly.
